Yep. I don’t know why but I really struggled with it at first, and then over the weekend it all clicked at once. The whole thing is beautiful.

Absolutely. Can’t stop listening to it. Perfect album for this weather.
Ingydar is my favourite right now. Some amazing, darkly beautiful imagery there, and I love it when Adrienne start changing the vocal tempo mid-verse (the “his eyes are like blueberries, video screens, Minneapolis dreams” bit here, or in the bridge of Mary - I’m sure there is a technical term for what I’m clumsily describing!!?). That “everything eats and is eaten” line is stuck in my head constantly.
Also, as mentioned already, it incredible how good this album sounds. The production and mixing is

I haven’t spent much time with songs yet (thanks Springsteen) but I do find her solo records a bit of a slog, I hate to admit. Undeniably beautiful but all very slight and a bit one-note for my tastes. I can dip in and out and enjoy what I hear but I find my attention wandering over the course of an album’s worth. I’ll persevere…

I don’t think they’re as good as a full band record, quite, but I am enjoying this collection of songs a lot. Sort of reminds me of S and like confessional 00’s folk as much as it does yer Dylans and suchlike.
Took me a few listens, but oh man, Songs is so good.

Sounds exactly the same as the album (not saying that’s a bad thing, but wouldn’t have known I was listening to a live recording of “anything”)

Yeah I always enjoy watching someone play though. Would never have known she was strumming with a paint brush just by listening to the record 
Edit - and Anything definitely sounds a bit different without the backing vocal echo

also re-affirms to me how amazing a song dragon eyes is, just stunning.
Never seen that before, it adds a nice tone to the song.
