thanks for the shout out! glad you’re digging it. it’s my shameless attempt at ripping off Can, Neu and Tangerine Dream in one go

Was disappointed not to find this on streaming this morning. Sounds great!

Keen to check this out but I don’t think she’s ever lived up to the potential she showed on Isolation. I just loved that album’s refusal to pick a lane

Yeah, same! Nyege Nyege Tapes normally put things up on Spotify so hopefully only a short delay.

Is Scotch Egg now permanently Scotch Rolex? I thought that was just that particular project. Anyway, looking forward to this!

New D’Angelo!

Ok tbf i’m loving the lane she’s picked with this one :dancer:t2:

Had relatively low expectations for this one as soundtrack stuff (even though it’s D) but it’s good. Possibly lengthier than it needs to be, but I really enjoyed it.

idk but he’s gone by Scotch Rolex on a few things over the past couple of years. I see he’s also been DJ Scotch Bonnet

That cover is pretty metal too tbh.

Might get really into French ritual ambient power metal this year.

Aron & The Jeri Jeri Band - Dama BĆ«gga Ƒibi (I Want To Go Home)

From Senegal via Berlin, Aron and the Jeri Jeri Band fuse griot storytelling with jazz, reggae, afrobeats and electronics to spectacular effect

So say the Quietus. Sounds immediately up my street.

Kreidler - Twists (A Visitor Arrives)

Influential electronic group from Dusseldorf (not that one). New one to me to be honest but a quick search says @mrmrongov saw them live and rates them.

Football Matt le Tissier or conspiracy headcase Matt le Tissier? Preferred his earlier work if I’m honest

This is my pick of the day/week/month? Really hitting the spot!

Had no idea about this!. … not sure about the vocals on the track I just listened to though

DJ Lucky - Triple 7

pure modern footwork tailor-made for the dancers…with tons of rave-friendly sonics…soulful, but eerie…with lots of trance-inducing arpeggios

I’d be in on that alone but a DJ Manny feature sealed it. Teklife is the label, not sure why Spotify list it in the artist name.

Edit: was really enjoying this but track 4 is jarring in its disappointing use of an ablist slur in the title and throughout the track (same term as Lizzo and Beyonce had recent backlash over).

Pleased to report some of the recent singles like Sometimes, I Swear have been more like this and less like 10 hours of GB News.

The lead singer is from Southampton too. His name is Rishi. Lol jk

1st comp from new label called Elicit, part run by Kessler. Many flavours of cutting edge club tunes. Driving techno, hybrid dancehall, furious breaks, catchy hooks. Big rec.

Not seen this one mentioned I think…

Hizbut JĆ”mm - Hizbut JÔmm - LP - World Prog
Guitars vs Kora with some nice african rhythms, once the sway gets to you its a difficult album to surrender. The preview track & Endepandãas are the stand outs, imo. FFO Ackamoor & The Pyramids
