What else is out?
Imarhan - Essam
Westside Cowboy - So Much Country 'Till We Get There (EP)
2nd EP from Manchester based indie pop band. Some good songs on here.
Chris Ballew - Starting To Get Light
The peach loving former President of the USA is back with another album of whimsical joy to brighten your January
Shaking Hand - S/T
Post rock from some Manchester youngsters.
Blanket - True Blue
Some music of the shoegazing variety from North West UK
Sassy 009 - Dreamer+
Only heard one song on the radio the other day, but it caught my ear enough to intrigue me. I’m guessing alt pop/electronic music from Norway.
Robbie Williams - BRITPOP
Originally scheduled for an October release but delayed until today because Taylor Swift might have blocked our Robbie from nabbing his sixteenth number-one album and breaking The Beatles’ record. Will he get there now?
Mary Lattimore and Julianna Barwick collab. Expect floatiness.
New Mitski single released at midnight.
Probably my first record on my radar this year off the back of the single Keeper that was one of my fave November tracks, Courtney Marie Andrews definitely getting a spin today. It’s confessional songwritery stuff sure but its got a good groove, and the band work is really well arranged.
Courtney Marie Andrews - Valentine
Oh hell yeah
Thank you for immediately cleansing the thread for me after seeing the Robbie Williams post before yours.
Ah, this is loads of fun
Saw them a couple of times last year in support slots and they killed it both times. Think they’re going to be massive…
I saw them twice as well, once at a festival and a headline show in late November. Agree, they are gonna be big.
A$AP Rocky - Don’t Be Dumb
First album in nearly eight years, features from Tyler The Creator, Doechii, Thundercat, Westside Gunn, Gorillaz, Brent Faiyaz, Jessica Pratt, will.i.am, and Danny Elfman
Doesn’t seem to be up on Spotify yet as far as I can tell
I also heard her on the radio the other day and so listened to the 2021 album after which I really liked. Excited for this.
xavisphone: balançe e paixão
Absolutely wild baile funk on Modern Love. Same ballpark as the Anderson do Paraiso album from a few years ago, which is prob one of my faves of recent years. Second side goes dubbier, less Brazilian. Maybe second great album of the year already. Seems to be Boomkat only atm, but having a blast with it this morning.
top of the pile today
The bass part to The Wahs is almost identical to The Warning by Green Day, very funny!
