Emma Ruth Rundle - Music From The Bella Vista
Music to accompany the poetry book released in February, now on streaming for the first time. Really need an Engine Of Hell follow-up.

Really enjoying this. Kinda sleazy with elements of bands like latter day Liars, Viagra Boys, might appeal to Model/Actriz fans, etc.
Not An Album Alert
Revival Season - Formless
An EP (or mixtape) from the Atlanta hip hoppers. Released on Heavenly, toured the US with Kneecap recently. FFO Run the Jewels, and maybe a bit of DJ Shadow.
Thanks to whoever put them on my radar via the Best of 2024 Music League at the end of last year. Nice one.
Not sure you can compare them, with this being an EP rather than a fully fledged album like Conversational Pieces - it is a fun listen though.
I think album wise his best (so far) this year is either Conversational Pieces or Token Of Appreciation (with Chuck Strangers).
Boldyās previous albums with Real Bad Man were both very good if you havenāt heard them, & if you just want more RBM his albums with Zelooperz & Willie The Kid from this year are both good (as to be fair is most of his back catalogue of productionās)
Yorkston / Jaycock / Langendorf - Yorkston / Jaycock / Langendorf
James Yorkston, David A Jaycock and Lina Langendorf (saxaphonist with Second Hand Orchestra) getting their ājazz wankerā on for some sprawling, near-ambient experimentation.
Emahoy Tsege Mariam Gebru - Church of Kidane Mehret
Another re-release from rediscovered Ethopian jazz pianist. This one focuses on her spiritual music, with harmonium and church organ making an appearance.
The title track from the LindstrĆøm album sounds a lot like Relight My Fire. Made me smile.
This is excellent. It would fit right in on Ghost Box and looks the part, too. (I know Fire Records can be a bit Ghost Box-adjacent.)
In no way did I expect the breadth of things this is giving me, and I love it.
I donāt listen to much metal these days but this is fucking excellent!
Pliocene - Natural World - Coastlines
New ep from one of Jeff from The Daysleepersā side projects. The second in his Natural World series. I prefer some of his rockier projects but Pliocene are always nice to listen to when you want to drift off. Shimmer reverb soaked down tempo hazy guitaring.
thanks for sharing this! iād never heard of them but gave it a go based on your description and ive been hooked since. bloody amazing album.
Cosmic Ear - Traces
Swedish jazz supergroup paying tribute to Don Cherry with an album of spiritual free jazz.
HiTech - HONEYPAQQ Vol. 1
Footwork/ghettotech from Detroit. Seem to remember their last one getting good reviews from Boomkat and got a 7.4 on Pitchfork
Morcheeba - Escape The Chaos
11th album from Morcheeba in this, their 30th year. Currently operating as a duo, just Ross Godfrey and Skye Edwards. I like Morcheebaās chill-hop thing and reckon they got unfairly maligned.
If you didnāt like Morcheeba in their 90s heyday, you wonāt like this - they arenāt reinventing the wheel - but if you did, I think this might be their best album since Charango, if not Fragments of Freedom.
Instant the claps come in on the second track Iām sold. Exactly what I needed.
This Post Paid For By PROF$.
Mogwai topped the poll last week, M(h)aol, Slow Mass and Surprise Chef tied for second.
What was good this week?
Pye Corner Audio came out 2 weeks ago (it was in the poll, too)
Good week, that. Iāve still a few to listen to, but Florry my favourite so far, closely followed by Ganavya.
I donāt police the poll - if it gets posted in the thread and isnāt amended/commented on otherwise, then itāll go in the poll. But fwiw, Spotify have the Pye Corner Audio release date listed as 23rd May so maybe it came out as a physical release or on Bandcamp earlier.
Thatās fair enough. Interesting it was nearly a week and a half late on Spotify, though. Maybe Quiet Details wanted some exclusivity to generate sales on Bandcamp. If so, it worked - theyāve blasted through two pressings of the album already!
