Yeah, will have to see on repeated listens how much substance there is to the songs. Definitively some interesting ideas and a lot going on, could end up being overstuffed. But still going from bad youtube rap to this in a few years is quite impressive, and I thought at least the singles and track with Maruja were very strong

Danny Brown said it made him fall in love with music again

Definitely one for @Ruffers

Dot Allison - Subconsciousology [Lomond Campbell remixes]

Lomond Campbell remixes of each of the tracks from Dot Allison’s 2023 solo album Consciousology, taking the dreamy psych/folk originals and taking them more in the direction of haunting electronica, not really that similar to Allison’s former band One Dove, but moving in that direction.

Pete Astor - Unsent Letters – Home Recordings 1984-2024

Indie singer-songwriter. Previously unreleased songs from Astor’s forty-year career in The Loft, The Weather Prophets and as a solo artist.

Genuinely thought it was a Chris Bigg design. Surprised it’s not

Just been alerted to this excellent new release from Lash. Goth-y post-punk tunes, like a moodier and punchier Desperate Bicycles. Really, really into this

Debut album from metal band 7 Year War, released last night at midnight. Loud and heavy and guaranteed to clear the Saturday night hangovers. Have been known to drop Sepultura covers into their live sets if you want a reference point to the genre.

Nihilistic Easyrider, Indigo de Souza, Galore and Golomb all providing excellent flavours of indie/fuzz/power pop this week. NODEGA storming punk fun :guitar:

Pretty Bitter hasn’t clicked so quickly but still good

I’ve only heard the first few tracks so far but they’re so categorically him. He definitely writes songs to make the world a better place. I’m pretty sure he’s done a bunch of kids albums too. Love him, and as I say, wish they’d get back together.

Worth a mention…

Nick Drske - The Msking of Five Leafes Lef

2 x discs of early versions and sessions from his first record. A few live takes as well, it seems, which is rare considering he barely played to audiences.

That Quinnie album I posted on Fri has taken over my week a bit.
It’s so lovely, really poetic lyrics, and surprisingly intricate with orchestration. A bit like if Grimes sang over Sufjan compositions?
Definitely one @JaguarPirate or @Konichiwa_Bitches may enjoy

you haaaate sweet carolineee
instant classics imho

I used to enjoy PUSA and listening back to their self titled album last week was happy to hear it still sounded great.

This is the first of his solo albums I’ve checked out, and thought it might be funny/quirky, but not so sweet and moving as well.

It was Alex G, Vines and Disiniblud taking the top 3 spots in last week’s poll.

Also, I appreciate how many posters in this thread formatted releases in the way that makes collating the poll much less hassle, i.e. ā€œArtist - Titleā€ all in bold. Thank you!

Haven’t listened yet, but I just noticed Latter have a new EP out. @TKC

Latter - What Lives Inside Me EP

I can’t stop listening to their 2024 album My Body Is My Sickness, it’s one of the best and most dynamic punk / post-hardcore albums of the decade. A perfect 17 minutes.

Got it on now, yeah, I love it already. This year has been pretty disappointing overall, this has what’s been missing.

Thanks for this recommendation, I have just found my new favourite artist :ok_hand:
