New Releases 26/6/20

Gone straight in on the Daniel Avery album. Think everything else I’ve got lined-up for today has been mentioned. Bo Ningen? Anyone mentioned that?

Field Works - Ultrasonic.

AmbientDrone apparently using recordings of bats as the jump off point.

Lucy Railton live piece with proceeds going to Covid-19 & Grenfell charities

Hoops have a new single out

Also Arca and Vilde for me today. Eventually. After i’m finished with Daniel Avery. Whenever that might be.

New Mudhoney album? EP? They’ve been treading water a bit recently but that’s hardly surprising giving how long they’ve been at it.

New Alasdair Roberts, I haven’t really enjoyed much since No Earthly Man but always keen to give him a listen

About 8 weeks late with this one, unless that’s it just out physical?

Just got Bananagun on now, excellent stuff.
Waiting for Khruangbin to arrive on vinyl before having a listen, but excited for that one.
Never really clicked with Nadine Shah but will give that another go.

This week is really spoiling us!

Expect everyone’s overwhelmed already but here’s your weekly dose of groovy afro business if anyone feels the itch. A Ugandan dude who’s invented some sort of harp like thing, very chill and suited to sunshine

Is it ambient or has it some kick?

First couple of tracks from James Dean Bradfield’s second solo album (or third I guess, if you count the film score he released a couple of years ago)

Three or four driving techno tunes towards the start then moves into Slow Fade-esque grainy SAW 85-92 & ambient territory towards the end.

Skipped through the Daniel Avery a bit as it feels too early for that much bang, but I’m loving the sound of it. Looking forward to blasting it through the cans on my afternoon walk.

New Polypores out today. Gorgeous ambient synth stuff.

My vinyl copy arrived a couple of days ago and it’s one of the most beautiful records I’ve seen in ages.
