🫎🆕 New Releases 29 Mar 24 🆕🦞

Enjoying the new (and final) Sum 41 album for what it is, although it’s very obvious that many of these are songs that were written for other artists and kept or repurposed. If ‘Dopamine’ wasn’t pitched to Machine Gun Kelly I’ll eat my hat. I’m not wearing a hat, but if I was I would eat it.

Yot Club - Rufus

Melodic bedroom surf pop. Drum machines, indie guitars, occasional electronics and hazy, treated vocals. This feels warm, nostalgic and energetic.

/side tangent. I was just having a look through the newmusicfriday tags to have a look at the early threads, and it looks like it was @Cameron12 who kicked it off in doing it regularly for a few weeks and then others carried it on.

It certainly took off, @Cameron12, so congratulations on your legacy wherever you may be!

Not bad this. Nothing earth shattering but nothing unpleasant.

Delivering on first listen!

First proper Ed Harcourt album in quite a long time - the title track was always a highlight of his live shows when I worked with him

Ride have a new one out. Seems strange after all these years that they are the ones trying to catch up to Slowdive.

Sterolab have a best of the switched on albums out.

Been enjoying this on a lazy Good Friday

Call themselves “garage folk” and “dustbowl revival” but its just country twinged indie for the most part. Not as keen on the more ethereal parts but Paperweight is a hell of a countrypop single. Ray Lamontaigne(sp?) Is on it too for those who remember him.

Gave up on Sum 41 cause it’s not particularly customer-friendly but this is good. Paperweight is 10/10.
