First album in 10+ years, so happy they’re back, lovely to hear the two singers’ voices again. Danish catchy chamber indie pop. FFO The New Pornographers, Mew.

Hey everyone gather round, this album rules

Surfbort - Reality Star
Punky garage rock, 14 songs in 30 minutes, hitting the @Funkhouser ratio.

Bonnie “Prince” Billy - We Are Together Again

He’s been back in fine form recently, so I’m looking forward to this. More of a folk flavour than last year’s more country oriented Purple Bird album, based on the reviews.

That’s an absolutely brilliant roster of contributors. Always enjoy and admire what they do for these things

Seeing Olivia Rodrigo cover The Magnetic Fields wasn’t something I was expecting.

Modeselektor - Classics vol. 1

Reworking of some “classic” Modeselektor tunes which let’s face it didn’t need a rework. Will the ever hit the heavy heights of Happy Birthday or Monkeytown ever again? I highly doubt it

I’ll mostly be listening to this, King Shabaka and Dave Stapleton’s release from last week this morning, all excellent.

The Yussef Dayes Experience - LIVE FROM MT. FUJI - LP
The third live album from the London Jazz drummer’s super group, the others being Joshua Tree (2022) & Malibu (2024). The incredible session was available on YT for over a year now (see below) and is absolutely worth a watch. Special mention to Minami Kizuki playing Sanshin who features on 2 tracks. Fave Track: Turquoise Galaxy

Bandcamp - Appears the Embeded player isn’t working as there is no preview track

In the interest of completeness, the bonus track has also gone up separately

Katherine Priddy - These Frightening Machines
Folky artist who has apparently expanded into other styles on this one and is getting great reviews.

Natalie Jane Hill - Hopeful Woman
Mellow singer-songwriter stuff. I really enjoyed her Azalea album.

Cowboy Hunters - Epeepee EP
In which our intrepid punk heros take on racist flag-shaggers, funds for merry-making and the joys of drinking to block out the horrors of the world.

Emma Ruth Rundle - Some Heavy Demos
A Bandcamp Day release of early career demos to raise funds for a new album recording.

Nina Nastasia - assorted outtakes
Another Bandcamp Day release of demos and outtakes from throughout her career (including 3 from the sessions for Dogs!).

OYDAR - Bus Depot
one of my all time dogs adding skittery drum machines to his folky harmony-rich songwriting. He’s really good!
