900 hours put into BOTW and TOTK is not enough to join the cool club, it seems. Been working then cycling so not had a chance to digest any of this properly yet

I’ve had the family membership and expansion pack since it came out, with no gaps from what I can remember. I definitely have not played it as much the last 2 years as the previous 5 though. The only game I’ve hammered is TotK in that time.
Got my Switch 1 from John Lewis for £279.95 which, apparently, is £367.40 in 2025 money, so not that far off the new one’s price.
Going to get it from JL again, I reckon.

The switch 1 launch was a nice memory. The week after my birthday. I had organised a work curry and it ended up being the night before launch. I’d booked the day off the day after too. We ate and carried on at the pub. Everyone went home after last orders and I just went straight to Game for midnight and then took my new switch home

Ballon kid was my favourite gameboy game as a kid, have somehow never investigated ballon fight was really exciting seeing it on the chat clip
Rewatched the DK trailer at highest quality and tbf it looks incredible. Also just looks really tactile and fun to play. Bet it’s amazing.

Also rewatched the trailer for the Forgotten Land expansion. That’s already one of the prettiest games of all time and it looks just astonishingly beautiful now.

The snippets of the two Zeldas with higher resolution and frame rate look spectacular as well - wonder how they’ve changed the fogginess of Hyrule to account for the clearer picture.
Heres the thing about Warriors games
They will always look foggy and crappy no matter what the system

think mario kart world would be perfect for me, on older mario karts when i’ve lost but not willing to accept defeat by rolling over the finish line in shame, so I turn around and go for a little drive, take in the sights.
I think this is my own fault and it is just because my TV is too big but I have a real aversion to ultra hd stuff, just seems too pristine, somehow overwhelming, could go for a nice bit of fake film grain or fake surface texture as if it was projected, to mess it up a little and take the edge off.
