Yeah I don’t think games are for me any more.
Can I just go and have fun? No, you’ve got to do this shit.

Eternal Darkness 2 please
Feeling a little overwhelmed by all the unplayed and unfinished games on my Switch. With a bunch of them I don’t know whether to try to resume where I left off, start again, or just start something new.
If I were you, what would I play:
Think that’s all my unplayed and unfinished games, though I’m possibly missing a few. I’m not counting games like Slay the Spire or Dicey Dungeons as I’m so bad at those kinds of games I may never fully ‘finish’ them, but I do like picking them up for a few hours here and there.
If you vote for one of the ones I’ve already started, please also tell me if you think I should resume from wherever my last save was (which was years ago for some of them) or just restart.
Thank you
I did this too when I first got it but have just started playing it again last week and have almost got back to the point I dropped off last time. Think I will be sticking with it this time though.
Said Limbo because it’s quite short and self-contained. And good!
Though I’m definitely planning to play Disco Elysium a second time myself at some point, so that would also be a good shout n
This was my thought! I’m worried I’ll pick up one of the chunkier games and just get stuck again.
Limbo’s great, and short. Give Inside a go too - from the same developer and one of my favourite ever games.
Mario Wonder?
I’ve played Inside! Loved it
By all accounts Return to Dreamland has the better reputation of those Kirby’s if just picking one.
Would stick to Pikmin 3 or 4 first from that series as 1+2 doesn’t have the same level of polish - think they both have demos, so maybe try those out first to see if they like it. Odyssey is probably the best of those you’ve mentioned, but you can’t go wrong with those you’ve listed tbh.
We’ve got Wonder already, sort of torn between more Mario, a surefire hit, and something a bit more unusual in Pikmin
Pokemon Let’s Go is really good and child friendly
I wouldn’t say Pikmin is that child friendly. I love it now but found the first one quite stressful as a kid. It’s more complex than it looks
@hesastopsiiiiign
Pikmin 4 is probably most child friendly. The Dandori stuff is a bit of a challenge but you don’t have the whole having to not run out of friut thing that 3 has, so it can take as long as it needs to take which is less pressure. 9yo loves it and there’s just the occasional bit I help with (they don’t like the night missions)
Also Kirby, Dreamland is probably more fun and value!
As a console n̶o̶o̶b̶ novice I naively thought the Switch 2 coming out would mean the Switch 1 would get cheaper…? Or maybe even turn up in Black Friday sales. But it’s just going to be the same price forever?
Pretty much. The economics have changed around how manufacturing costs change over time in recent years, so there isn’t the flexibility there used to be. The Yen is relatively weak, memory prices have shot up, tarrifs and inflation are higher, all of which makes it harder to discount.
Best bet is likely to be someone’s second hand switch from someone who’s upgraded to a Switch 2 - assume there’ll be a lot of those floating around this winter.
Yes annoyingly the trade-in price hasn’t stayed equally high, I think I could get around £60 for mine.
I guess nobody wants to buy a preowned one as the joycons go to shit so badly, although I stupidly bought new ones about a month before I got my Switch 2.
Well I am in the market if you’re getting rid!
£60 is mad. I think I paid £400 and got MK and Luigi’s Mansion with it. That was summer of 2020. Even if I only play it once a month I’d rather keep it than sell it for £60!
Try ebay/vinted. Sold mine in mint condition and boxed to a pal for £85 last week.
