One and done

We must have done this before but I can’t find a thread.
I’m thinking about artists who released one album and that was it. This is prompted by being introduced to ‘Break Tomorrow’s Day’ by the Johnsons.
The Johnsons were from Philadelphia, supported the likes of the Replacements and Husker Du and were signed in the wake of REM’s increasing popularity. They released one album in 1986 and disappeared.

I’m sure everyone has their favourite examples?

Although it’s not like Josh T. Pearson was never heard of again.

Embrace

Weirdly, not too dissimilar these records. Wonder what the people involved got up to after these bands dissolved.

Bullet Union. Feel like the did this LP and then maybe a 7”?

Members went on to be in other bands, Male Bonding probably the most successful.

Do Nailbomb count? I don’t really consider a live album with a couple of bonus tracks to be a second album

Tiger Trap and Go Sailor - both Rose Melberg bands - only released one album.

Tallulah Gosh only made a compilation of all their singles, which came out years after they broke up. Given how influential they were on the indiepop scene that’s slightly absurd imo.

Wu Lyf would have nicely fit the bill for this. Released one killer album and split up the following year, never to be heard of again until…

Good shout!
One of them went on to be in Earth for a little bit, as well as Sex Swing too!
