oh yes, the only reason i don’t kill and hurt people is because I’m scared of damnation… not because I feel empathy and understand that doing so would ruin my own life and countless others
and even without doctrine, it’s easy to see that caring for others is often returned with love… which is an essential part of a healthy wellbeing and human connection

don’t think you can overestimate the effects ketamine has had on the brains of her and Musk. I’ve seen what happens to people that go on regular binges… don’t get me wrong it doesn’t turn them into fascists, but the absurd conspiracism coupled with this sense of grand purpose has ketamine addiction written all over it

Does DMT turn people nutty, for lack of a better word? I thought psychedelics didn’t really have too much of a long term effect in themselves - though they might hypercharge those with latent psychosis.
I have a fairly limited pool of people to draw from, but know a few guys who went off the deep end with it and have completely lost the plot now.
If you know a few that suggests something, it could be that all had other issues and were all vulnerable. Ket is something I know very little about, I vaguely know people well versed in psychedelics and a few don’t like ket.
Yeah I don’t think psychedelics themselves instanly unlock psychosis, just that if there is any propensity and then one starts hammering the strongest one out there, the end results can be very damaging.
And then in the Musk / Grimes scenario, take the wealthiest man in the world, with a tech saviour superiority complex and pump him full of ket and “the god molecule” and brain rot is the logical path.
Obviously speculation. But I’d be shocked if not true.
A friend who works with very mentally ill people - a day hospital where attendance is mostly voluntary says he thinks even a single go at psychedelics can bring out latent traits in some people.

I’d believe that too.
Mercifully I got through my endeavours scot-free, but I know many who didn’t (either sectioned, shut ins or jailed).
I wondered if I might have latent traits - my friend says we simply have no idea how many people do, which is why he’s against legalising psychedelics. He said if someone was likely to have latent psychosis then they would be hearing/seeing/experiencing things that weren’t there on a low-key, regular basis.
I can’t say that I have though have always been interested in the paranormal/unexplained/supernatural both in fictional and “real” terms. I’m more sceptic than believer but I don’t think it’s a binary. There seems to be a “schizoid spectrum” where people have these experiences but they no more than mildly inconvenienced by them and in many cases they may be positive. I think a fair few of my friends are like this.
I used to be very strongly for legalising psychedelics but am much more reticent after my conversations with this guy.

Very much on the same page.
I believe there is massive therapeutic value that needs to be researched properly and utilized (resolving PTSD for example), but legalized for unrestricted recreation is probably not the right call.
That said drugs will always be available, so at least legalized there would be some quality control.
