Doesn’t necessarily fit the brief on the surface but you can trace a clear line back from Ramones and The Clash etc’s underlying pop melodies to girl group stuff like this so it counts imo

Definitely counts, I mean the drum beat from Be My Baby has been ripped off a million times and the guitar riff in Then He Kissed Me are definitely there, even before you get to the melodies
