I find the TKOL redemption narrative totally baffling personally: totally unmemorable album.
Surprised to see AMSP so low down on most lists itt: it’s not the best Radiohead record but it’s far from the worst.
Amnesiac> Kid A and the only reason most people think otherwise is cos of the “kid a leftovers” tag that still gets applied to amnesiac.

Nah i’ll go to bat for kid a. Idioteque, national anthem, treefingers, it’s a good stab at something else even if it ended up sounding like the Beatles more than it did Aphex Twin - Amnesiac does not bang. It slumps.

Nope. It’s not full of technicolour energy but it’s got a lot of their best songs: pyramid song, glasshouse, knives out.
