Hum it. You can’t can you?
I can only listen to In Rainbows these days …almost all the others are meh and OK Computer just reminds me of Diana’s funeral

I can actually
it only just occurred to me the weird significance of a 1997 album with that much car accident imagery going on
Even Thomas Yorke can’t remember how it goes.
I was a big defender of TKOL at the time but it kind of didn’t click so much on my last listen. I think ‘Bloom’ fucking slaps - the last half in particular is really strong (I absolutely love ‘Separator’ as well). But as an album, I think the production lets it down a bit. It’s weird because the way it was put together sounds absolutely fascinating, and I almost wish they’d made an album that leant more into that crazy process.
I think part of the reason for that is that I saw them on that tour. They really fucking slayed those songs live on that tour, and the album just feels a bit lacking in comparison to the memory.
Really happy with my performance in that thread. Good to see my posting was that on brand.

Separator is the only song I would want to listen to off TKoL, so…
OKC=IR
Kid A
The Bends
HttT=Amnesiac
The Live EP with the better version of True Love Waits on it
MSP
Pablo Honey
TKoL
C’mon, Codex is gorgeous
Nothing to do with the Gucci reference on Paranoid Android then?
Must have heard kol about twenty times in my life and apart from little by little by hook or by crook and lotus flowers, lotus flowers, I genuinely genuinely couldn’t tell you how any of those songs go. Codex might be lovely while it’s on but I’m wracking my brain and I can’t recall it.
Get some headphones on now and crank it.
The second half of that album is beautiful. First four tracks kinda suck.
Nothing
It absolutely is, but it’s the only reason I put on TKOL at all. I have no relationship with the album; I’m just waiting for the bit I like to come on and then my interest wanes even further. Doesn’t help that they put out several songs around the same time that were much better than everything else on TKOL but neglected to include them. Thus, it is my least favourite.
Pablo Honey, on the other hand, I grew up with. I know every bit of it, back to front. Played it on the school bus, in the common room. It’s the sound of youth, freedom and innocence. Musically it’s as childish as my memories but those tunes have never, ever left my head. Couldn’t hum you a bare note of TKOL.
Kid A > In Rainbows > OK Computer > Amnesiac > The Bends > Pablo Honey > HTTT > AMSP > KOL
Tkol came out when i was at uni and we all hated it apart from the last four tracks so those are seared into my head
Radiohead released 3 albums, two of them good and then they split up
Maquiladora > The Trickster = Killer Cars > Banana Co > Permanent Daylight > Polyethylene (Parts 1 & 2) > Talk Show Host > Meeting In The Aisle
Glad we cleared that up.
'bows > Bendz > Kid A > Amnesiac > HTTT > OKC > the others can all fuck off
This is exactly me but with AMSP as well as TKOL
I don’t care how gauche Pablo Honey might sound nowadays, it meant a huge amount to 15-yo Ella and that’s worth so much more than the sophisticated but ultimately unmemorable artistry AMSP/TKOL have to offer
