And the Godfreys are the wise men
And if you took your own cup you still got the 50p discount.
I got a free cookie from there once which I’m obsessed w because (a) cookies are great and (b) they give free stuff to ppl they fancy and so I’m like hyperfixated on that as the only time I have ever been desired by another human being
I haunt Pret like a melancholy ghost, waving my handkerchief (read: debit card with contactless pay functionality) into the mournful wind (read: indoor air conditioning) and waiting for my true love (read: more free cookies) to return
It was a faithful companion if I ever found myself breaking down in central London.
Had that stopped? I probably haven’t been in one since the panny d but I used to get one semi-regularly.
they did not at the one’s I’ve been in since.
For £5 you can get so much better lunches than their wraps or whatever. They do nice crisps though (also absurdly priced). In conclusion, Pret a Manger is a cafe.
Euston Tower one
I’ve not realised it wasnt 99p.
Probably been twice in last year though
My step dad used to bring pret sandwiches home for us as a treat when he’d spent the day working in London.
hate the Euston Tower area. fucking hate it.
yeah, remember my mum coming back from London after some hospital appointment or something and she brought back some brie baguettes from pret for us because they were so good.
actual footage of me at the time
Jam croissants and their cinnamon danishes are good.
Was a bit obsessed with their dark chocolate and sea salt bar for a while.
Had to go once a week for about 2 years for training, was sweet relief from the Reading office tbh and £7.25 on expenses for lunch would go to Pret most times. Or Sainsburys if I wanted to cover my food for the rest of the day.
I look back on it fondly, as would usually finish at 2 ish so could go to a gallery or exhibition before heading home.
Seems like a nightmare to get a coffee from there though. The one near my work has 20-30 people waiting for coffee each morning and they call “skinny late” and watch people fight over it. Seems very stressful. Think they’re just starting to make it worse and worse so people don’t do it and then they realise it was a mistake that they can’t keep up with.
Sandwiches are crap but Love Bars and Popcorn Bars slap.
Saw they sell granola now in Waitrose?
Definitely a very stressful environment and don’t love their sandwiches or hot food. Coffee is nice though and they probably do the best readily available croissants on the British High Street. Tend to go to the one in Manchester Airport for breakfast because of the above and they also do fresh fruit and things.
I like their brownies. The sandwiches have bugger all inside them these days though, and yet remain really expensive
weirdly I’m sure I’ve obsessively purchased certain products repeatedly but I can’t name any of them that I would feel proper sad to never eat again
in conclusion, can’t be that good
