Iāve never seen North, but had heard of that review, and read somewhere earlier than when directing that he was supposed to be directing Shawshank Redemption.
Had absolutely no idea heād done Misery or a Few Good Men til this morning, thought he was just When Harry Met Sally and Spinal Tap and other films in that bracket (not that thereād be anything remotely wrong with that of course)
Loved North as a kid, unfairly maligned
Knew about Misery, blew my mind this morning about a Few Good Men, cause it was a Sorkin script I had thought Fincher directed it. Also Reiner directed another of Sorkins scripts The American President which I didnāt know.
Feel like youād be hard pressed to find a single person who didnāt rate at least one of these 4/5 or 5/5(and no, Iām not going to check the top 250 films thread to see TKC has proved me wrong on the ones that made it)

This is really tragic. When you see that the police arenāt looking for anyone else, thereās usually an obvious conclusion but it sounds like there is a third party involved according to a lot of sources. The BBC is understandably reluctant to go in on that until thereās more official confirmation of it.
He did so much good stuff, but Spinal Tap alone is reason enough for me to revere him.

One of those films I resisted seeing for ages because Tom Cruise looked to be at his most annoying and everything around it looked so excessively cheesy and āU-S-Aā (I mean I was 17). Only saw it 10 years later when I was getting into DVDs and was clocking how I had these four films I loved by Rob Reiner and that one was sitting there also universally admired.
Such a great film.
Iād give three of those 4 or 5!
