For all you Lawrence English fans, there is a quite wonderful audiobook series thing on BBC Sounds of David Attenborough reading JA Baker’s The Peregrine. I’m about halfway through it - sublime. Gonna listen to the album when I finish it.

I’ve heard it many times, one of my faves :slightly_smiling_face: almost wish I hadn’t! I’m hoping it’ll give it some new context and meaning though. So glad to finally be getting around to it. Baker’s writing is really something else. Lyrical and dramatic - poetry, really.

Started this on my drive in this morning. Really incredible prose. Gonna have to buy the book now though because Attenborough’s voice is just a bit too soothing - chunks of it just blur into lovely white noise for me.
