At the end of 2024 Ayloss of Spectral Lore released a demo version of the first half of his forthcoming album IV for name your price. Just before New Year he decided to release the second half as a demo as well, also for name your price. They might be subtitled demos but the quality of the first half sounded fine (to my ears anyway), so looking forward to see what the final version will sound like!
“Ηey friends. In the end I decided to release the second part of IV as a demo as well. I like the idea of two versions of the same album existing - this is the diy and free version existing now in full, obviously. My plan now is to get the whole album remixed/mastered by someone much better than me and released “properly” in 2026. The final version is going to feature lots of guest appearances, subtle re-workings and some extra tracks. It feels surreal to finally finish this - at least a version of it. Oh man, that sucks. I love Coalesce and Jes as a guitarist but fuck that dude. The statement the band put out was shocking as well. Really disappointing. Guess they’re done but they’re not getting my money anymore

Not sure if i get the whole Castle Rat thing. Feels a bit gimmicky and they don’t come across as proper ‘heads’ in interviews to be honest. Like as if they are just testing the water with metal or something, i don’t know

Yeah, their music isn’t anywhere near heavy enough and I am broadly against any kind of fun in music (or otherwise). To be filed alongside the rest of the boring Desertfest fodder.
Conan had 2x people in full metal armour welding swords at the Scala show, if that sort of thing is required.

The singer was a folk pop solo artist before them, all seems a bit try hard
