- WRESTLEMANIA 17 TLC match for World Tag Team Titles: Edge & Christian beat The Dudley Boys (c) & The Hardy Boyz to win the title
- WRESTLEMANIA 25 The Undertaker beat Shawn Michaels
A devastatingly predictable final four
It’s hard to see past Savage/Steamboat for the purists, it’s just a perfect display for athleticism.
But in terms of pure enjoyment it might be TLC, the constant mad spots, all the run ins, the character shining through all the madness.
I can’t remember the two in the second semi-final so abstained.
Think Steamboat vs Macho has done pretty well to get this far with a voter base largely too young or not even alive to remember it. I know it is objectively the first truly great WWF/E match which makes it extremely important, but nostalgia is a factor too
Damn, missed the QF. Ah well.
And the rounds of 16
Oh and the round of 32 too. Whoops.
Can’t believe Zayn/Knoxville isn’t gonna be in the final. Outrageous.
Real ones know
A wonderfully crafted match and easily the best one to pick from here for me. I guess if nostalgia’s a factor then disillusionment with what wrestling has evolved into is also one for me. I’ve admittedly never seen the vast majority of the matches here (think I bowed out around WM20) and many only once (WM 8 onwards).
So, good that it’s got this far on reputation alone.
