I think it’s the soundrack/audio generally. It’s really unnerving, and definitely made me feel uncomfortable and stressed in a way that I haven’t watching other tense films.

just tried to get a ticket for Make Up on Friday - no places available for one person
tried then for Les Miserables on the same day and the exact same result

bit annoying

Went to see Unhinged last night (Ronseal/10) and the screen was pretty much at capacity.

Which, given every other row was out of action and there were three empty seats between each booking party, was about 20 people.

I was at a Cineworld that only reopened last week so I presume it was mainly Unlimited Twats like me but still v surprising tho given the chat in here.

Seems a bit silly that Venice is going ahead.

The Spider-Man 3 jazz goth scenes were clearly amazing and some of the best Marvel content there has ever been

SM1 = Spider Verse > SM2 > SM3 >>> the rest

Live-action Mulan will be on regular Disney+ from early December

lol, announcing that everyone will be able to watch a new Disney at Christmas has almost certainly killed a large chunk of those £20 sales then

It must be a doomed enterprise anyway. Most people with Disney at home just want wall to wall safe family content to entertain the kids. Why spend £20 on Mulan when the three hundredth rerun of Frozen or Avengers Endgame will do the trick just as well.

could they have handled this any worse?

Watched 11 in August.

Best: Battle of Algiers

Worst: Alfie

I think Alfie might actually be the worst film I’ve ever seen. Hated every second of it.

The Michael Caine Alfie or the Jude Law one? I’ve heard the former is decent (if dated now), nobody liked the remake

Watched two different films about the Hatton Garden heist this week.

The Hatton Garden Job had Larry Lamb and Phil Daniels in and was shot a bit like an Edgar Wright/Guy Richie movie, all whooshy edits and woi-oi humour. Quite fun in a shit way. 5/10

King of Thieves was the bigger budget one, with Michael Caine and Ray Winstone. Fantastic ensemble cast, but the script wasn’t funny or interesting enough to keep it moving. 6/10

The Michael Caine one is almost unwatchable now, although he’s very good in it. The Jude Law one is merely pointless.

Isn’t there a line in it like:

‘It’s mental’
‘It’s monu-mental!’

looks good

The Michael Caine one. I expected it to be dated but I was shocked at just how offensive it was. It just made me sad.
