Utterly beautiful song, and great example of leaving the other instruments to breathe before coming back in. Never heard of these guys before, but this’ll definitely scratch my itch for stuff that sounds like late period Talk Talk.

the album ‘Hex’ is their definitive work, though, and is absolutely in the same bracket as latter Talk Talk
I’ve heard their name bandied around a lot but never actually listened to them. Will definitely investigate them further.

Actually it’s all over Mr. Gnome’s Deliver This Creature album (I played Rabbit off of it early in Music League - it’s almost like an early Pumpkins, Radiohead, Black Sabbath hybrid). One of the few best albums of 2008.
Forgot how much of a banger this is. One of the best album openers ever.
Also really satisfying trying to track the different ways the drums start and stop (all the cymbal crashes, snare hits and so on).
I just listened to the album for the first time in years and realised this fitted the brief pretty well
