I remember years ago on Pop Idol (I think), Pete Waterman voted against putting a guy through to the next round because the guy sang falsetto and Pete said he didn’t really know what to do as a producer with singers like that. Thought that was admirable, “you’re good enough, but I’m not, so sorry but you’re out.”
