21 appears to be Lorde’s ‘Pure Heroine’. To think that someone got paid for this.

Ah yeah, they just forgot the title, I’ll amend the list, ta.

In fairness, most of that list is pretty spot on.

Good list. Something for everyone there

This is very clickbaity/ragebaity but they should have Stone Roses - ST at no.1 really

:man_shrugging: AM should have been the Arctic Monkeys record.

Actually hard to argue with a lot of that. Buckley, Kid A, Trout Mask Replica, U2, Sex Pistols should be the top 5 though.

Are The Horrors even big enough to feature that highly?

Some very upsetting, some I can get behind

I think “historical importance” is a bit of a stretch for anything released on the last five years.

Yeah that’s a good list. I like primary colours but can’t argue tha it’s not overrated.

Might argue “Grace” as I don’t think it is spoken of as reverently post-hallelujah, but I’m not really fussed.

Very strong no 1 pick though, good stuff

It’s not a bad list. I’m surprised that it doesn’t include more obvious generational sacred cows like London Calling, TDSOTM, even Airplane over the Sea.

Outrageous

They got The Horrors spot on though

Between this and the Pitchfork “re-review” of TOTBL, I can’t figure out why the critical re-evaluation is happening now.

I know the recent stuff isn’t great but it hasn’t been for 10+ years.

Millenial Journalists are just discovering Joy Division & are realising their formative band was a tribute outfit maybe

The whole concept of ‘overrated’ is just an invitation to edgelord wankery - ‘oh, lots of people like this, just imagine how cool and edgy I’ll seem when I tell them it’s actually shit’.

If they didn’t realise they were quite similar to Joy Division in the first place then they shouldn’t have been journalists
