…so i listened to Mount Eerie in the sunshine
I ended up admiring more than enjoying his last 2 albums - just found them a bit too hard going to actually enjoy. So I wasn’t going to bother with this but I gave the tracks that got previewed on Spotify a listen and was blown away. So haven’t had chance to listen to the full album yert but really looking forward to it.
Same here - I find the very abstract pure instrumental stuff a little bracing over album length but this record is a revelation.
yeah, I had that Annie Hardy down as one to look into, but there must be something wrong with Spotify, as it seems to be playing two different records at the same time. Either one might be fine, but together, impenetrable is putting it politely … moving on.
April already better than March… so much I want to listen to from yesterday (with help from this thread).
Good job I feel shitty and will probably slob about with music on.
On further listens, I think the WaqWaq Kingdom is gonna to be a strong AOTM contender. Sounded absolutely terrific in the weekend sunshine.
Two big ones this week, this is pretty spectacular from Joshua Abrams & Natural Information Society. Experimental looping kinda ambient instrumentals that feature Tortoise’s Jeff Parker, amongst others. The last track is more jazz focussed than the rest of the LP, but it’s all pretty spectacular.
The Caretaker has added Stage Two (C+D) to his Everywhere at the end of time project.
I haven’t listened to The Octopus Project for a few years. They were brilliant back at the EITS ATP, thanks for the heads up on that.
I’ve listened to Dark Sky by Othona a couple of times today. Broadly file it under techno - stylistically it reminds me a bit of John Hopkins, albeit more uplifting at times. It’s decent - well worth a listen if you’re into yer melodic techno.
