Yeah, they looked a bit rubbish (and pricey) so was happy to pass on them! I liked the palace gardens they led down from though.

So tiny! So rubbish!

That clockwork clock thing in Prague. Absolutely staggering how hundreds of people crush in to watch that shite

Lots of these things would be great if only rhere were no other people there. Stone Henge (compared to other, less Hollywood stone circles), giant’s causeway, Snowdon…

Leicester Square is obviously rubbish.

The Bronte’s house.

In fact virtually any house that gets visited because somebody famous once lived there imo.

Not completely shite, but I’d find it very hard to recommend a trip to Dublin at the moment with the state of the city

It’s dirty, expensive, the food is shite, it can’t be bothered to home any of its own residents properly (whether in a home or not), the museums and attractions are fine, but not great.

Go to Belfast instead

Scafel Pike. Unless you go up on like a week day in November or something, do any of the other neighbouring fells. You won’t notice the extra few feet on top of the Pike but you will notice the crowds.

Anyone said Venice? (but not the surrounding villages on the lagoon)

I’m gonna say Parc Guell here.

Summary

Went first time in 2013 with a bunch of mates - great. Free to get in as it was a public park, not too busy. Pretty in awe of how amazing a place it is.

Went back in 2015, took my ex lady who was quite into Gaudi and architecture. You had to pay a small fee to get into the central part where all the main pieces are but the rest of the park was free so you could get around the outer parts and up to the top for the view over the city. Good bit busier than last time I was there.

Went in 2023 with my current gf and it had become Disneyland. Charged to get into any part of the park with payment booths set up at every single gate. Full of tour groups (I’m guessing a lot of parties from cruise ships), overpacked and I’d say 90-95% of people are viewing the place through the screen on their phone which was usually on the end of a selfie stick.

Maybe it’s more the way tourism has become that’s pissed me off and I’d get a similar experience everywhere else these days but it really sucked to see that you couldn’t get into any part of the park without paying €10 (I think?). I wanted to take her to Sagrada Familia but the experience at the park put us both right off.

Walk past it on the way to Poechenellekelder so it’s fine
