Vegetable samosas

Unsung heroes of lunchtime and/or general snacking.

  • Very good when chilled, amazing when warmed and crispy
  • Just a whole load of vegetables but somehow made delicious?
  • The pastry! Unbelievable.
  • Are those poppy seeds?? Wow!
  • Somehow a third of the calories of a sausage roll/pork pie??
  • Super cheap
  • Supermarket ones are good, cornershop ones are incredible

Ever tried them warm and crispy dipped into a bit of mango chutney?? Hmm.

Yeah they’re probably the greatest thing to be found in the chiller aisle. Can’t go wrong. I’ll eat the mini ones obvs, but I like a big boi in a big square packet.

A greasy cold lamb or chicken samosa after night waiting for the bus home <3

I love the peas in a veggie one.

I like my samosa to be ever so slightly more cooked at the corners so they fold over a bit.

It’s like a curry in a delicate thin pastry wrap, then deep fried. What’s not to love! Samosas!

Love when you get them hot from a cornershop. Maybe the only good thing about London is the amount of cornershops where you can get a cheap hot samosa

And the mound

Love them. My pal gets her mum and dad to make me about 40 of them every time she visits them in London. It’s the glue holding that relationship together.

Coild not give one hoot about calories but all your other points are good and valid. Love a samosa. The Mozzers deli ones are good.

Yeah, they’re fantastic.

Though the local shop I get them from do better Aloo Tikki so more often getting them these days

delicious and reliably not too spicy

Might go and get some proper ones in the week.

The highlight of Christmas is when I go and get a box full. Give a load of em to family, stick a load in the freezer and then eat about 20 of them over the course of a week.

The sad decline of supermarket deli counters means that I’ve not tried these. What makes them good?

Yeah, they’re one of the GOAT snacks/pastries. You’ll very often find me here on market days:

Loads of filliing, optimal greasiness.

Air fryers are generally overrated from my experience but they’re perfect for these.
