I often see that quote linking to this interview at the bottom of DiS, and it gives me a little internal chuckle. It hasn’t quite gone that way has it?
I remember being a big fanboy leading up to the release of Total Life Forever and hoping they’d expand on the more “experimental” krauty vibes of their b-sides. I really liked Total Life Forever but I guess that was the beginning of their gradual shift towards the middle. Now its bland moody Fender Rhodes ballads and meaty rawk (which I still do enjoy a little if only out of obligation)
