Good grief in a ‘woah, that’s shite’ way, or good grief in a ‘dude, I love that song’ way?

Don’t Marry Her by The Beautiful South was the first one that came to mind. Something about them that does my nut in.

Mr Brightside would have been the answer when I was a student/going out more, due to it being played on absolutely every night out I went on no matter what the night was. I’ve made peace with it now I don’t hear it as often.

The second one! It’s a brilliant song and I will never tire of hearing it.

Absolutely this.

find this really pompous and annoying, one of the most try hard songs ever imo. When the little trumpet fill comes in halfway through it’s just too much

Bruno Mars - The Lazy Song

Actually for the last six months or so, it might be Rent by Pet Shop Boys. Not because I particularly dislike them, but ever since it popped up on a Music League playlist I’ve had the “I love youuuu, you pay my rent” refrain from the chorus jammed in my head for some reason, and it pops up as an earworm on pretty much a daily basis.

Been so long since I’ve listened to it that I’m not sure the earworm version is even correct, and it’s probably not even a bad song. But it’s got to the stage where the earworm is so annoying that I’d probably tell Neil Tennant to fuck off if I saw him.

God there are too many to list, one I’ve not seen mentioned is Don’t Stop Believin by Journey - I still know all the words through sheer osmosis though

Actually could be one of these

I get embarrassed just remembering they exist

Stock answer was Don’t Stop Me Now for a very long time, but I heard this for the first time in ages yesterday and really, really hated it.

This would be another like Mr Brightside which would have been right up there when I was first going out - combination of its revival because of Sopranos and Glee, and growing up somewhere where one of the only late night options was an 80s bar meant I heard it all the time, probably haven’t heard it for 5 years or so which has probably dulled my hatred a tad.

Tbf even as I’m typing this I can hear the entire thing in my head and my resentment building.
