Hello. We all love voting and ranking stuff, right? So let’s do it with some artists’ back catalogues. This will be a series of threads (unsure of timeframe etc at the moment) so if you don’t like an artist then don’t you worry your sweet ass, another will be along soon after. This time we’ll be voting on songs by PJ HARVEY

HOW IT WORKS

So, voting will be similar to ones I’ve done before. You have 10 points to distribute however you like, across the entirety of the artist (PJ Harvey in this case)‘s entire catalogue of songs. Album tracks, singles, b-sides, whatever you like, if I can google it and verify that it’s by them then it can get points. You can give all 10 points to one song or 1 point to 10 songs or anything in between. I’ll then calculate the points totals and do a results thread where the boards’ favourite song by whoever the subject is will be revealed.

Great, now I’m never going to get any work done today. Can already tell I won’t be able to narrow it down beyond ten songs that only get 1 point and then inevitably be dismayed by the results…

Fuck off was Let England Shake released 13 years ago. Sorry. Was going to vote, just going to rock in the corner and go full blown existential crisis. All will fade - times remorseless march stretches me thin over the tapestry of the earth, woe to the Gods. Etc.

What I love about this poll is that there seems to be no consensus whatsoever about what her best song is. It’s interesting that the song choices already made are not “hits” or even singles for that matter but are songs that are extremely personal just to those who selected them.

I mean, there’s exactly 10 tracks on To Bring You My Love. Seems like a pretty simple job to me.
