Bill Drummond - 17
David Byrne - How Music Works
Hanif Kureishi & Jon Savage (editors) - The Faber Book of Pop

Honourable mention for a great fiction book which is about, but not about, music: Magnus Mills - The Forensic Records Society.

Michael Azerrad - Our Band Could Be Your Life
Lizzy Goodman - Meet Me In The Bathroom
David Byrne - How Music Works

Been meaning to read this for ages. And OBCBYL actually.

Do Not Sell at Any Price: (The Wild, Obsessive Hunt for the World’s Rarest 78rpm Records) – Amanda Petrusich

Honourable Mention: Monolithic Undertow – In Search of Sonic Oblivion (Harry Sword) – very much loved the subject matter but didn’t love the writing.

There’s way more to them than music but maybe Stuart Cosgrove’s three: Detroit '67, Memphis '68, Harlem '69.

I really need to read Our Band Could Be Your Life
