Avengers: Infinity War FUTURE SPOILER ZONE 💀

Also: “we will deep fry your kebab” - smattering of awkward laughter in my screening at that!

No sign of Korg or Valkyrie there. Sure Marvel have talked about both being in future films, so hopefully not…

Thanos only kills 50% of people wherever he goes doesn’t he, so I’m guessing Valkyrie (and maybe Korg too) are still alive

Given the left field choice of directors for some of the recent Marvel films I’m assuming Wes Anderson is on board for Infinity War part 2

Ah, I was wondering what this was after seeing a line in the credits mentioning using a character from arrested development!

I saw that in the credits and was instantly thinking wtf, looked it up on my phone while I waited for the credits to end.

didn’t spot it in the film itself obviously

saw this earlier today. from the point of view of someone who’s probably seen a few of the various Marvel films before it seemed decent, looked good and some nice special effects and jokes and stuff but not knowing who some of the characters are and not explaining anything that happened before the film doesn’t help. had the same issue with that last Captain America film too.

also doesn’t help if there’s a screaming 5 year old running around in front of you and the projector breaks 3 times, but there you go.

the only hero left to save the earth

Yeah, the first bit of that film was nuts. “Oh right, so they’re mid-getting battered presumably in space… oh, there’s Idris Elba!”^

^who gets high billing for someone who’s in the film for about two fifths of a second

whole first scene made no sense to me as I’ve not seen any Thor films. at least Idris Elba can spend more time watching his Sky Q recordings on the move though.

not if that rotten Thanos gets his way

killing half the universe is one thing, but getting between a man and his TV shows crosses the line :-1:

I feel like such a mainstreamer now using Marvel’s intellectual properties as the backbone for jokes

I think you’re supposed to surmise that when he was attacked and lost the ability to transmorphogriphy himself into a human skin, he also lost the ability to cloak his location. Conveniently Cap happened to be at a Fringe Show round the corner.

The film itself? Meh.

nice to see a film thread written entirely by people who didn’t want to see the film but saw it anyway and didn’t like it (except for @guntrip obvs)

this film was fucking amazing fwiw

I saw it, I liked it. Went on a bit too long. I like the fact that it pitched you right in with little exposition.

I think they’ll wind back time and save all those who disintegrated at the end.

I missed the Arrested Development nod while watching it, so may have to see it again.

Looking forward to Captain Marvel now.

There were people in tears at the end of the screening I was at. And someone shouted out “No!” really loudly when Stark was run through.

I liked it! I just didn’t know what the pager thing was at the end.
I said “fucking have some of that” a few times. Like when Cap started laying into the scary monsters and then a little bit later when Thor joins in.
Thanos was brilliant. Especially the stuff with Gamora. Although I would have appreciated a little bit more about his whole 50% thing (like, has he tried other methods? I dunno). It made me laugh several times too. Yeah.

Just remembered that bit when Spidey’s mate ‘causes a distraction’ on the bus. Ha. He’s brilliant.
