Very generous of you not to have self portrait as a shocker.
Yeah I think it avoids it just about - probably the biggest surprise for me
my mum is a massive fan of this album fyi
For people who have seen the film, the song Turkey Chase, is the turkey being chased, or doing the chasing?
a turkey is a bad person
Finally doing my New Morning re-listen. One More Weekend actually sounds very Blonde on Blonde.
Billy 1 sounds like it could be on Desire
what a compliment
first one iāve not heard before. on first listen it seems nice enough but completely inessential, probs wonāt bother with a second playthrough
New morning - again much like self portrait itās better than i remember. As others have said it definitely takes a dip in the middle but if you took the best tracks from it and self portrait youād have a really fucking good record.
Pat Garret & Billy the Kid - the weakest record to date for me. Yeah knockin on heavens door is really good but the rest is just fine. Nice enough on in the background but as Geesey said i donāt my dylan being background music.
I know weāre way past it now but some of the stuff on the last few albums just reinforces how nuts it is that this gem never made it to record
One or two albums per year from 1962 to 1970 then nothing until 1973. What explains the gap?
Couldnāt get the bass sounding quite right on Turkey Chase
He did record a couple of new songs for a Best Of in 1971 (although they were all re-recordings of Basement Tapes songs I think)
Well itās a sound track and sounds like a soundtrack. Pretty decent as far as it goes.
watch the film lads
Intrigued about the inclusion of Knockinā - does it actually feature in the film? As otherwise it really sticks out like a sore thumb (as good as it is)ā¦
Yeah in a key scene too
you lot better give Pat Garrett some love
