Inspired by the Criterion Challenge I thought I could whip up a wee challenge based on the lists we’ve created. You can find all the lists here.

12 films over the next 12 months. In any order, and take as long as you want. Feel free to post your choices now, or as you watch them.

Here’s what I’m going to watch. Hope I’ve done it right and not got confused with the lists or orders. This took fucking ages, especially the directors one. Will probably get them all done in January as I will forget if I only do one a month

  1. Some Like It Hot
  2. Donnie Darko
  3. Ugh fine I’ll watch Die Hard. Have I seen it before and just forgotten? Very possibly
  4. This is also Die Hard. Godfather II is next on the list and I am NOT going to watch that. Skip to the next one which is Heat.
  5. A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night
  6. Mad Max 2, suppose I better watch Mad Max 1 first

Going to do this, but not going to make a list as I’ll never stick to it. So this means 2026 will be the year I watch The Godfather, a mere twenty four years after being given the DVD box set
