🤯 🤯 🤯 thee KRAUTROCK thread 🤯 🤯 🤯

Can we have a krautrock thread (I know it’s a stupid name for the music lol)
Been getting into Amon Duul ii today, Yeti is a seriously great record! please put in some less well known stuff/debate the classics

Here is some stuff I like:

This is also good but mildly hard to find, think it was on soulseek in the end

not actually krautrock but great anyway

Collaboration between Eno and Cluster

Agitation Free - Malesch (it’s kinda pychedelic with some North African / Mediterranean influences)

Manuel Göttsching - Inventions for Electric Guitar (bit Fripp and Eno-y)

Guru Guru - UFO (heavy pysch jams)

Jaki Liebezeit, Holger Czukay, Jah Wobble - Full Circle

anyone bother with that recent Eberhard Kranemann and Harald Grosskopf album?

Big fan of Ash Ra’s Blackouts album

y’all should get out my pal Eddie (of Spoilers) new track, it’s VERY Krauty

I remember this band from on here, someone posted them a while back. Great stuff

Phew- Japanese singer, Can helped do the music on this I think? It’s unclear and I can’t find much info on it right now. Good listen though

Recently discovered music composed for East-German athletes train for the Olympics during the 70s… not really though, it’s just some daft Scotish fella pretending. But it’s good!

this is so bloody good

volume 3 is my fave

Just recently put together a primer on Krautrock with my buddy for our Philosophy of the World Podcast. Hoping this serves as a nice entry point into the genre.

Hey folks. Philosophy of the World podcast is back this month and this time around my buddy Steve and I put together a primer on Krautrock. Take a listen following the link below. I’d love to know what you’d include on your own primer for the movement. Let us know!

Primer = Neu!
Undercoat = Faust
Top coat = Can
Woodwork/trim = Satin Whale

Nice - never heard Satin Whale. I’m assuming that’s more of a prog rock / jazz-rock sort of band?

Yeah definitely more proggy; big guitar solos over motorik repetition

Killer collob album by Moebius of Cluster, legendery producer Conny Plank and Guru Guru drummer Mani Neumeier. Mobius and Plank did a few albums together but this one is the best in my opinion, due to the addition of Neumeier’s incredibly drumming. Tribal proto-techno bangers.
