I think the fanbase hype them up a bit too much, but the two records so far are great

Not for me. I want to like Idles but I just find them irritating musically.

I guess all that shouting could be annoying…

I dunno about idles. Really disliked them to begin with but then they grew on me. I think they’re a class above the others. But then I’ve a mate who has no time for idles but likes Sleaford mods.

Come over to the Irish music thread if you’d like more Irish bands btw.

Appears I was slightly ahead of the idles backlash. Brave new world

Love Sleaford Mods but totally get why they’re a Marmite artist and some people’s most hated band ever.

have they fucked up the upload to spotify or is it supposed to cut off at the end like this?

Yeah weird. Surely this is only the first 3rd of a song?

Video here with full track (can’t play the one above for some reason) - there are 3 minutes here not on the Spotify version so must be a fuck up on that end: https://youtu.be/vYRncUK11a8?list=OLAK5uy_nGZVDEsNI_3DfnCWteRyrA9YaaurQcSnE

At Brixton in Feb

Full version of I Don’t Belong now up on Spotify. Hero’s Death is decent enough, nothing standing out about this one for me though, Clive.

Yeah, agree, bit of a dirge.

I like it, did someone mention The Cure ? It’s, in a similar vein, a little reminiscent of The Lotts from Dogrel. I did see the new album referenced somewhere (not by the band) as “Seventeen Seconds, reimagined”, or it might have been Three Imaginary Boys, I can’t remember !

I really like the new one, the chorus is deceptively great.

Off one listen, this sounds like the Faith album with an Irish accent.
