Glastonbury 2025

I’ll start with Marie Davidson - Levels, 11.30pm, Thursday. And Gwenno on the Tree Stage at 1.50pm, earlier in the day.

Hope the heatwave is over by then

Looks like we’ll just arrive in time for the post heat wave storms!

Would seem from the TV schedule that Neil Young won’t be broadcast (in full, at least), which makes sense as he wasn’t last time, and also with the whole cancelling then re-joining the lineup thing from a few months back.

He played the first set of the tour last night. I’d be reasonably happy with this, more bangers and crowd pleasers than not.

Definitely didn’t expect two from Greendale, and another two fairly obscure CSNY tunes.

I like to imagine that he just has a giant wheel at home with all his songs written on it, that he spins to decide what random crap the band will rehearse to bring on tour

When I said: ‘Didn’t expect’, it is NY after all. None from the new album, mercifully!

Based on the clashfinder website’s highlight stats, Neil Young is the 5th most popular option for Saturday headliner (I.e. beaten by the other four main stages)…

Can’t wait for ma front row NY spot

(also I’m not worried as it’s Glastonbury, and many thousands of boomers who’ve never even heard of Charles xox or Doughie will show up)

Tbf when you’ve got Charli (biggest act of 2024) Doechii (maybe the same for 2025?) and Scissor Sisters (huge nostalgia act, catnip for Glasto crowd) I reckon anyone would do badly. It’s a stacked headline clash. Stick him Friday or Sunday when the competition is worse and he’d have a bigger crowd.

As others have said though, great for those going and gonna see him

Clashfinder’s full of shit.

I for one, am looking forward to my third annual Glastonbury couch tour. And with the man himself headlining I couldn’t be happier.

No mention of Neil Young here… :eyes:

I’m guessing that’s what he pulled out over then? Was told he had to have (some of) his set broadcast on the BBC then they backtracked…

Last time Neil Youg/his management let five songs be broadcast on the night and one to be available longer-term on the iplayer etc, would imagine it’ll be something similar this time.
