PS Pac-Man Championship Edition DX is the best imagining of an arcade classic ever. Just listening to this music makes my heart pound, so fucking intense. I demand everyone who hasn’t played this game to seek it out as its legit one of my fav games ever. (So is Ms.Pacman)

Banger! God, Im not going to lie but this was the game I’d play after a night out on the tiles (for obvious reasons!) such a great game

Gave the original two games 2/5 cause of the legacy but yeah, they’re a load of rubbish now

OG Pac-Man is rough but i can still happily play me some Ms.Pac

But Championship Edition is the ‘correct’ Pac-Man these days :wink:

Pac-Man, important for video game history, not that fun to go back to.

Pac Man Championship Edition DX, one of the best arcade-like games of all time. It’s so fun to load up a 5 min run and just let the visuals and sound overwhelm you. It took me a few hours to realise there were other map layouts in that game because I was enjoying the first map so much.

Its fantastic. The sequel was disappointing (decent but not quite as satisfying) but the OG is on steam :slight_smile:

Nex Machina was a really fucking fun arcade shooter of recent years! Can’t imagine it will get a thread on here so seems topical to mention it now

Speaking of Jeff Minter. If you ever get the chance play his VR Game ‘Polybius’ its so intense

I’ve never seen any VR, if playing that tempest game he did on vita is anything to go by then it would be quite the experience!

It basically ignores all the VR rules by making the game as fast and disorientating as possible but its a blast! You can play it outside of VR but its not the same

really hope there’s always a place for intense games like this, sometimes feel like you need an antidote to all the levelling grinding loot collecting stuff every now and then

pac man is such a brilliant idea for a game considering the constraints of graphics of the era though isn’t it, big circle that looks like it’s eating stuff

I think it’s still a pretty good and playable game even today, you often forget how awful loads of games have aged, trying some of the NES stuff that came with Nintendo online for a while and realising that only the mario games were fun at all for me
