1/5 for the âman menâ thread
Watched the first couple of episodes and found it incredibly tedious. Gave up.

my experience too. Not sure if I should rate it⊠maybe watch 3 episodes I think and didnât feel it, but as the type of bellend that constantly tells people you need to watch 4 episodes of The Wire before it âclicksâ, maybe I should abstainâŠ

Tried to get into it three times and couldnât, got bored with the first three episodes.
The fourth time stuck. 5/5

So youâre saying you need to give it 4 episodes eh

It caused everyone to get into Ayn Rand so itâs directly responsible for the mess weâre in these days.
Now youâve got Norfolkâs maddest men

One of the most impressive analysis of toxic masculinity there has ever been, and will ever be. Once the first season âtwistâ of Don is out of the way the show really expands and proves they knew what they were doing.
Bar maybe Betty Draper who feels massively under used and wasted in the latter seasons.

Doing this for the first time currently. Itâs very brilliant. Peggy is the best one. 5/5
This is what I hoped itâd be like but I stopped watching cause don was driving about trying to uncover some mystery that seemed really dull but was treated like some huge thing. I also quite liked in the early episodes when itâd focus on a company trying to sell something which was dumb but enjoyable and replacing that with don being boring wasnât for me.
I really really like Mad Men. I love the pace and the design and the clothes and characters, itâs good shit
Laine Pryce was a good character wasnât he?

One of those Iâve been meaning to start for ages but thereâs so much of it itâs always quite daunting. Will come back to this thread in five years or so.
5/5. Loved it. But can totally see why people donât

Sometimes it felt like watching telly behind a museum glass case.
But had an irresistible sense of time and place and great characters that kept me coming back like few drama series ever have.
Solid 4.
