Really stoked for album edit rules — removing things like “Remastered” one track at a time is a huge pain, plus the streamers often switch versions so you have to do it over again sometimes.
Not sure about sorting library by recency, will have to try it out as I don’t really know what they mean.
Oh thank god. Dunno if it’ll affect the weekly grids or not, but I was griping about shitty lo-res album covers the other day and the inability to change them because of all the historic likes.
Love it and hate it equally. Stokes my weird obsession with listening stats that I spend much too much time on.
My biggest issue with it is how weak the API is. You’ve never been able to pass an artist and track parameter to it, or filter your list of tracks by a single artist. I’d have gone pro a long time ago if you could.
this thread has reignited my interest in lastfm yet again and i have just created a shiny new account. we’ll see how long i last until the stats obession takes its toll
I’ve got a spreadsheet with my top 500 overall artists at the end of each year, so I can see the rise and fall of each artist it’s a fucking THRILL let me tell you
I like it for when I’m getting into a new artist. I check which albums ma pals are liking with the Listeners You Know feature. Often super useful for a bit of guidance.
Actually really need to start paying again, cos Tidal can’t scrobble tracks credited to more than one artist properly and I really want to be able to fix that.
I love last.fm because scrobbling made me listen to music pretty much every spare minute I had and I’m still the same 17 years on. Weird how gamifying music listening, by sharing your stats, changes your behaviour. Weirder still to think I only used to listen to a couple of albums or so a day before that.
I’m a Pro subscriber because of the editing feature (mmmmmm clean stats) but also because I’m petrified it will go down the tubes.
