FWIW I greatly value your musical opinion.
Thanks
I didnt mean to make such sweeping statements - I just somtimes say stuff without thinking - sorry if i upset anyone!"
I find itās the tracks stuck in the middle of the playlist that all start blending into one whereas I get a bit of a lift coming towards the end and start paying more attention
I always listen on shuffle, in the last round the first song on the list was actually the last one I heard.
Was just about to vote, read back my comments and theyāre kinda grumpy. Found this round a bit of a slog but probably best to back off for now and reevaluate with fresh ears.
Just for some balance this has been my favourite round (along with Anything Goes). Worst ones have been 1997 and Opening Track.
Think Australia was my least favourite round (the birthday round was probably the objective worst though but I felt I could skip most of that without guilt).
Just finished my first play through of the list and have narrowed my choices for votes down to 25 songs. Another strong playlist, as always.
Do me a favour and vote for me will ya - iām getting depressed
I genuinely really like that Music League throws up such a difference of opinions. Opening track was probably my favourite so far and I havenāt liked this one much at all, but it would be boring if we all agreed (and I won every round with a score of 50 points)
Just voted, thought this playlist was excellent, definitely one of my favourites so far, could have voted for 20 tracks and am sorry that could only give 1 to those 10 I have voted for.
Listening to the Ghostface track and heard him mention bubblegoose. Now Iām raging I didnāt pick this
Donāt know if anyone is interested but Tricky clearly loves Childrenās Story- thereās a version by Nearly God with Martina rapping that I downloaded illegally years ago and wouldāve been my pick if it was on Spotify.
Thereās also a version on the extended version of Maxinquaye which is not as good but has Tricky rapping it.
The Slick Rick one was nearly my pick but I realised some of the original lyrics are a bit of their time/ problematic.
Iāve heard the winning track.
That sounds interesting, will have to find that for a listen.
I nearly submitted Public Enemyās Black Steel which of course Tricky & Martina covered as well.
I considered it but Iām saving Black Steel for a round involving covers.
Shit, I couldāve and shouldāve gone for Mephisto and Kevin.
Voted. Had more than 10 songs I wanted to give points to, and have discovered some new gems, but also had more songs I really didnāt enjoy, so maybe this round is more polarising than others. Also took a lot more concentrated listening. Some great tracks though.
Oooof, finally got round to voting, this is my worst result in ages.
Yeah pretty mixed round, lots of good stuff but agree it needed much closer listening than other rounds and slow-song-man-talking got a bit fatiguing.
Ditto. I always knew mine was going to be a difficult sell to DiS, but I wanted to pick it anyway because itās one of my all time favourite acts. Not going to complain about my placing, but very disappointed that all you indie no marks are leaving Powderfinger lingering in mid table obscurity.
