This was written for One Direction
The 1986 pop rock/bordering on synthpop hit āYour Wildest Dreamsā is by The Moody Blues. It falls into the category of hits I knew growing up but never paid attention to the artist. In this case I eventually listened to them, but know them for the late 60s psychedelic & progressive pop. Thank you, supermarket & Shazam.
i was vaguely familiar with 2hollis but didnāt know his dad was one of Tortoise

Oh, I didnāt know, saw something about his Mum being a top music executive a few days ago had no idea about his Dad being the drummer in Tortoise.
The Fat Boy Slim remix of The Mock Turtles from that phone advert didnāt open the publicās eyes to a lost classic because the re-release charted lower than the original ever did
Came here to offer this as my MTYWSTR
Apparently what Bowie originally wanted to call it too.
I mean I know the guy was always ahead of the pack but the foresight of calling his post-Ziggy album āCame here to offer this as my MTYWSTRā is quite something.
Predicting the rise of late 90ās/early 2000ās lad culture too. A visionary with boundless presience.

Richard Ashcroft sings at least some of the 15 minutes worth of LA LA LAs or NA NA NAs or whatever they are at the end of All Around The World.
The original was used in the phone advert I think
Ice Cream by Raekwon isnāt about ice cream
or, more specifically, all the different ice cream flavours are very directly racially-coded
The original Fireman Sam theme tune is sung by Maldwyn āMalā Pope. A name Iād more readily associate with BBC Wales radio than anything else.
Iām sure everyone knows this by now and Iām the slowest person ever. But despite listening to both songs quite often since 1997(!) I only just realised that main riff of The Private Psychedelic Reel by The Chemical Brothers is a sample of Norwegian Wood by The Beatles.
Well PSR is my favourite Chemical Brothers song and Norwegian Wood is a top 5 Beatles so of course I definitely knew this before now. Definitely.
Cody
Come on die young
Cody.
Fucks sake.
Whatās the significance of Cody though? Iāve known people shortened that album to Cody since I guess I first read Mogwai discussions on here but thatās all.
Local Glasgow gang wasnāt it? Or some graffiti?
