I like Nervelevers a bit more than Vortrack, which feels a little too early 90s throwback, and I’m saying that as a card carrying early 90s ambient techno nerd. Ufabulum was sort of Jenkins going “here is FUTURMUSIK” and then grinding that sound into an unmemorable flavourless paste on Damogen Furies, an album I own and don’t think I’ve listened to more than twice. We’ll see if Be Up A Hello breaks him out of the funk. With some funk.

I hadn’t realised that frabbits review was by Cohen but know exactly the one you mean and it was inexcusable.

Need that !!!

Enjoyed it as much as the first. It’s rather charming

Don’t know much about this band as yet, but their new single out today is marvellous.

I saw them about a year ago. Very good live.

Listening to the new Big Moon and its… okay
Kind of disappointed ANOTHER band has gone down this new wave tinged synth indie pop route. It’s becoming the ultimate cliche in indie music. Its well written and has solid hooks but has no personality of its own.

Closer to Grey is out on CD now

Listening to ‘Georgia’ now and really vibing with it

Hi! Ta for putting this in here - I had the temerity to go on holiday just as the label announced it was out, so my PR efforts have been scuppered by drinking in the sunshine.

But yes, new album and all that. Does sound a bit different to other satan albums, so if you want to read a bit about it, I wrote a lil thing here: https://blogaboutsatan.blogspot.com/2020/01/crystalline.html?m=1

Oh, and I’ve no idea why they put that Sophie/ calla thing, as she’d left like a year or so before they broke up lol. Oh well.

This is not the first time I’ve been mugged off by a press release shakes fist

I’m really enjoying this anyways! Gorgeous stuff. I’m in love with the title track.

Cheers - just bagged a ticket to see them in Leeds next month.

Hehe I mean technically its right, as she was in the band at one point, and I know they have to see records and all that, but still… hehe

Thanks for the kind words too  the title track was me trying to be Chromatics, but only had access to a synth which was gradually falling apart - kicked out a furious line hum!

Really nice album, this. I’m an absolute sucker for formless reverb-laden vocals in ambient!

Loving the sound of this. I know there’s nothing exceptionally earth-shattering about it but I miss hearing guitar bands for the first time and thinking ‘ooh, this could be exciting’. I did with this.

I’ve been enjoying this slice of 90s indie rock from Mad About the Boy over the last few days. Would recommend. https://open.spotify.com/album/3K8SrklRWeagqbBGy1jvh1

Anyone mentioned Alexandra Savior yet? Her album is brilliant. Very cinematic/film soundtracky (word of the day). Reminds me of Lana Del Rey’s last album.

New single from US Girls
