Swans

I’ve not been, what kind of size is it?

I think it’s like 1500 people but my recollection is it always seems packed downstairs and there’s an upstairs but somehow there’s an area you can’t see the band. Maybe these are unfair incorrect “hazy” memories….

Only show I’ve seen there was My Bloody Valentine, and this “hazy” memory is pretty accurate. Worst sound ever - not sure if because of band, venue, or both.

Electric Brixton is ok if it isn’t sold out.
This will sell out.

Think Electric Brixton was where Obituary was playing worked worked quite well there but then I was at the back and it didn’t appear sold out

Ooh! Leeds!

Electric Brixton is a pretty shit venue tbh. I’ve seen Swans there previously…

Yeah one of my bad experiences there was seeing them, sadly

Mmm that’s putting me off then. Maybe I’ll just stick with the memories of seeing them.

I totally missread Electric as Ballroom. Really not a fan of Electric.

Obituary gig eas good butbwas max 75% sold. A proper sold out show there is horrible and the bars only sell cans for 6+ quid that they pour in plastic cups.

Thinking back, one of my friends was kicked out over a misunderstanding with overzealous staff and security the last time Swans played there. I wasn’t there that night.

No it’ll be the full band and Norman Westberg will be back. It’s the last of the ‘big sound’ Swans so will be pretty epic.

Well I just meant as there is only four of them on the poster

Yeah not sure why that is. It’s everyone who was on the last tour plus Norman Westberg from what I have read.

SWANS have announced details of a European / UK tour in autumn, following the release of their seventeenth studio album, Birthing, out via Mute / Young God Records (N America) on 30 May 2025.

The tour, which starts in Leipzig on 23 October will be the last “big sound” Swans tour, with a line-up of: Michael Gira, Kristof Hahn, Dana Schechter, Larry Mullins, Phil Puleo, Christopher Pravdica, and Norman Westberg. The dates, which continue into November includes two shows at London’s Electric Brixton on 9 and 10 November, and two dates at Berlin’s Festsaal Kreuzberg on 27 and 28 November, full details below. Support comes from Jessica Moss.

Or come up to us and see them in Leeds? That said, I dunno what the venue is like…

@jordan_229 what is the Leeds venue like? Any good?

I’ve been to Project House once in 2023, it’s a bit of a big shed, not bad sound but the area it’s in is a bit run down industrial. It would also be a bit of a trek from the station. Roadside parking but wouldn’t want to guarantee the safety of your car!

I’ve just looked and there’s a carpark less than half a mile from the venue

That’s a fair point actually :grinning:

I like Project House, have seen Jeff Rosenstock, FWF and clipping. there. Debating this show for £40…if tickets are still available
