Chefs I had been hoping we might get the recipes from each episode so we could take a crack at them at home,
and the always ace Babish has come through with a few videos.
There are a few more on his channel + other chefs on YT are also having a go if anyone is interested
You get the call to go to Ireland and work with Kevin Shields, but when you arrive you discover that his only interest now is spending hours making pastries and desserts. This explains a lot.
Ok - was a momentarily taken out of it by the stunt casting in this series but they all worked once I got used to it especially John Mulaney, which really jarred at first for some reason. However, I’ve managed to finish the series and only on reading this post realised their mum was played by Jamie Lee Curtis, really not sure how I managed that??
Think there’s a lot to talk about on how it treats MH, some good, a lot bad but in the meantime just wanted to spotlight the bit where Fak’s talking about how the Replacements transcend basic hardcore but still developed out of Wipers and Dead Moon is astoundingly well written for a bit of throwaway stalling chat.
i just realised that richie is the annoying guy who goes out with the most annoying girl in Girls, he rides a motorbike and theyre in an acoustic folk duo.
thats one of the biggest character i hate - character i love differentials from any actor. very impressive
Enjoyed the first series, but still thought it was just a tiny bit overrated. Series two though is just sensational. Some of the best television you’ll ever see.
Fishes is right up there with the best episodes of anything ever.
Wonder if it was a time thing but I thought they would have made more of Tina hanging out with the other cookery students. It looked like the karaoke was going to be the start of something but she was back in the Bear straight away. I thought Ebra’s crisis was interesting but that got wrapped up pretty sharpish too.
the creator’s sister is a chef and is the culinary advisor to the show. loads of real chefs and restaurants have got involved in one way or another. i think the fact it’s incredibly closely linked to the food world is what makes it amazing.
I think all the advisors are people who’ve done alright such as head chefs and bosses so that’s why I think it’ll have a positive view on the industry overall. Now that they’re set up as a restaurant though there’s room for a lot of stories about how a restaurant affects its workers so it’ll be interesting to see what happens with that.
Always been a much better actor than she is given credit for. She’s perhaps one of those rare women who’s got better parts as she’s got older and moved away from being cast as the sex/love interest.
Probably the most realistic in his depiction of that sort of ageing macho type of guy too. Think the ep on his development is probably my favourite of the lot in this season.
