The Pitt

Is it not the rare show that sticks to the old fashioned one season a year cadence? Or was that just a one off for S2?

Oh I’ve got no idea - and all I really meant is that any wait is too long given I went straight from S1 straight into S2!

Ah yes, it’s just refreshing at least to not be in a Stranger Things / Games of Thrones / insert any recent show situation where you could be waiting years for a new season.

Yeah, I don’t have kids and I was doing alright until the drowning episode Jesus fuck

Oh boo hoo Dr Robby

I wish they’d just written Langdon off the show. They’re all about treating addicts with respect and every patient deserves equal care but this guy is treated like the actual devil

dunno, pretty clear indictment of the US healthcare system/opioid epidemic, plus him and mel together are the best

yes I like him, but I feel sorry for his character and the constant negativity thrown his way

I completely misinterpreted your first post and was ready to throw down haha. It’s mostly Santos and Robbie giving him grief isn’t it? I think with the latter it’s just projecting guilt, and Robbie being a bit of an asshole.

Have you watched to the end? Langdon has a nice scene at the end

I can see how it is misreadable. No, we are about 10 episodes in

Would you recommend this to somebody who doesn’t watch hospital drama?

I don’t watch hospital dramas generally and this is one of the best TV shows I’ve seen in ages. So yeah.

Agreed, don’t think I’ve ever watched a hospital drama before and this is one of my favourite shows from the past few years

Side question - Would anyone suggest going back and watching all 15 seasons of ER if they really enjoyed The Pitt. How similar / different are they?

I watched the first 8 seasons of ER during covid. It was ok, many more episodes so the quality is spread a bit thinner. There are some really good characters/moments, but might require a bit more patience

Yeah second this, I will say ER basically had the best TV cast ever in the early series so that carries a lot of the less dynamic moments

Not all 15 no! Stop at the end of s7

Otherwise yes. Very similar, i think John Wells is a main writer for both
