Bounced off it at first, but then clicked with the characters. It still feels more of a background show, with not having the nostalgia of seeing it before I felt myself just wanting more of the pitt style. Is dated in a few areas and was an absolute slog in the final seasons.
The first 7 seasons is about 100 episodes so I think I’ll give it a go but consider it something that can go on as a background show. It’s surely a step up from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills which you’d our current background show of choice and have only two reunion episodes left to get through).
Your call but i wouldn’t dismiss it as a background watch. I don’t get the ‘dated’ criticisms, i mean yeah in a lot of senses it is dated - it was made a half century ago - but if people can’t work around that i dunno.
I wish I could watch it all over again fresh. Some of the big moments won’t hit as hard if you’re kind of semi watching it imo
well we finished S2 and I already miss it, though I was kind of sick of a lot of the characters by the end or that they’d lost their shine. The most interesting and crucial character was the biker guy. Mel had her joy sucked out by the deposition and her sister getting a life, and I miss her positive energy. Langdon’s ending was great. Al-Hashimi we knew something was up.. and in the end she has a condition but we shouldn’t feel sorry for her? I wonder if she’ll be back?
Nah, Robbie won’t be able to leave the department in her hands, tied in with the biker guy’s illness and maybe the baby as well, he’ll make the decision to stay.
I do feel/ hope next season might be slightly less pessimistic. Have some of the characters be going through the hard stuff but maybe pull back the focus slightly onto some of the others that are less fraught
