Civilization with a zed

+200?! What difficulty level was that on?

Prince I think.

I basically veer straight towards social policies and religious benefits that add happiness - so you can get it from banks, ports, castles, temples…

I tend to play on King, where anything over 100 is massive in happiness terms when you have more than about 3 or 4 cities.

For example, in my Brazil victory last night, my happiness with 7(?) cities and one puppet was probably c.80 at game end and I’d got a lot of policies and ideological tenets to boost happiness and was allied to every single city state.

Actually, it appears that there’s no happiness difference between Prince and King.

anyone used / recommend any of the mod civs?

think alexander is the most nuts of all the leaders. at least you know where you stand with shaka

Well, he won’t be messing with me anytime soon :smiling_imp:

I do find the declare-war-at-any-time thing a bit weird having played lots of EU4 and CK2, where you need a casus belli.

Like, you’re often friendly with another civ and then bam!

They demand all your horses and declare war when you say no?

You have to marry your bastard son into their family, wait for him to have a sprog and then declare that said bastard spawn is the rightful king/queen of bastardshire.

It’s basically a Game of Thrones simulator without the dragons.

Or just send your chancellor in to fabricate a claim on one of their titles.

Just got the Switch version. Can you not command builders to automate improvements any more?

builders now only have 3 uses then they are expended and you have to build another. You don’t always want to improve everywhere anyway as you want to put districts down on certain tiles which will destroy your improvements

Ooh boy, sounds more complicated than I’m used to… Cheers Bammers x

it’ll take you one or two games to get used to I think but I reckon 6 is better than 5, the map feels much more important and each game seems to play out differently (admittedly I haven’t played that many yet).

Does the switch version have the expansion included? I need to get that at some point

It doesn’t apparently.

I’m gonna run through a few easy mode games to get the hang of it.

Agree with this. The variation between leaders and between games seems stronger than other versions.
