Guess I’ll have to give this a listen.
Film for the Future was a huge 10/10 song that I bought on dingle - edit, single, sorry @anon75298087 - as soon as I could. I bought the follow up when it came out and it was a bit slower and not up to much so I gave up on them completely.

4/10. Not downright terrible but it’s significantly more plodding and mediocre than Definitely Maybe and not in the same league as any of the albums that have are on this list.

Before the HGATR thread I would have said 4 and moaned about it being boring compared to Hope but I went back and gave it another try and do you know what? It’s brilliant. Sure it’s the band slowing down a bit but they were getting a bit older and that’s ok. The song writing was getting better and there’s enough bangers in there to still keep people pogoing.
Still haven’t gone near the albums after this though.

10/10 - an album that meant and still means so much to me.
Roddy’s voice is like a warm blanket I want to curl up in.
Hope is Important is arguably more thrilling and The Remote Part was a bigger success but I think Idlewild’s best songs are on 100 Broken Windows. It is wonderful.
