This week we came very close to having a HGIIR for NOW That’s What I Call Dad Rock. Sense prevailed though and discobot chose Björk - Homogenic but how good is it really?

That’s a 10.

I always flip between this and Vespertine as my fave, the latter maybe can feel a bit one-note on some listens if I am not in the mood. Both have not 1 duff track between them though.

Yeah I’d agree with this. Vespertine is unbelievably pretty and consistent, but doesn’t change things up like Homegenic does - having Unravel and Pluto on the same album is ridiculous

Debut probably my favourite album but Joga is my favourite song of hers. Need to revisit this album before I can score it as its a long time since I listened, but I recall getting bored during some tracks when it came out.

10, perfect album.

This is a stunning rendition of Joga on Jools Holland.

An 8 currently but I’ll give it more time this week and it may end up rising

My favourite bjork album. Took me a while to love the whole thing. Thought the opening 4 tracks was one of the great opening 4 track runs ever and was a bit disappointed the rest of the album wasn’t like that. The diversity of side 2 is its strength though and now this is a pretty near perfect album for me. Saw her live on this tour at manc Apollo and it just magical.

A big fat 10 from me, and any fom about 5 could be the best track on the album.

Probably my 5th or 6th favourite Bjork album but still an easy 10.

  1. It’s all genius-level except for ‘Pluto’ which I always skip. Soz.

Pluto isn’t one of the strongest songs on there for sure, but I like the contrast between its abrasive ending and the gorgeous intro to All Is Full Of Love.

Also, when I’ve skipped Pluto, I always get a little abrasive BUZZ from the very end of Pluto right at the start of AIFOL anyway…

Poll is Full of Love:

  • Album version
  • Single version

Good question. Think the album version was absolutely the way to go on the album itself, but the single version is probably the best song of the 1990s

Very, very easy 10. A monumental record.
